TV writer J.J. Abrams makes it all fun and games until someone gets threatened, stalked, chased, maimed, publicly humiliated and kidnapped by a raw-voiced, sadistic truck driver on a barbaric road-rage binge in this predator-versus-prey psychological thriller that puts the pedal to the metal. Before picking up his starry-eyed girlfriend from college, Mr. Righteous and Romantic (Paul Walker) takes a 200-mile detour to bail his trouble-making older brother (Steve Zahn) out of prison. The recent jailbird passes the time by staging some CB-radio sex as the two siblings drive cross-country. Soon an unsuspecting listener falls victim to the juvenile hoax, but quickly turns the tables by sending the pranksters on a death-defying ride of their lives. Director John Dahl packs action, intensity, sex appeal and comic relief into this high-speed duel that would impress even Steven Spielberg.
